Guest speaker Suki John will share her entrepreneurial thoughts about being an Author, Renaissance woman, and a Coleman Fellow for Entrepreneurship and Faculty member at Texas Christian University. Her most recent book entitled “Contemporary Dance in Cuba” utilizes humor, history, and personal experience to explore contemporary art and life in Cuba.
Suki John holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from the University of New Mexico, an M.A. in Choreography and Dance History from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Connecticut. She has choreographed for the Cuban National Ballet, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Company Narciso Medina, People’s Theater of Yugoslavia, Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Ritmo Flamenco, Adelphi University, New York University, the University of New Mexico, Joyce SoHo, City Center, Marymount Manhattan, 550 Broadway, Music Theater Works and Havana’s García Lorca and National theaters.
